San Francisco Gay Pride
LGBT Pride Celebrates Everything Slightly Queer
June 2006
I had a booth at San Francisco's Gay Pride this year. Oh yes, everyone wanted a piece of me.

I met Peaches Christ. God bless the fabulous.

There is so much I love about San Francisco and its Pride celebration. First of all, half the people there are straight, just out to support their gay friends and have a good time. Second of all, the accepting attitude that has made SF such a gay city is the same thing that has made such a pot-smoking city. I felt this sign really captured the San Francisco spirit.

While I was not out in my costume, other folks sure were!
Be sure to notice this fellow's large silver phallus.
I am so glad I live here. And that I am not trying to do this art anywhere else. (No offense, other places.)
One of my favorite things about SF Pride is that it is not just limited to gay people. Or bisexual or transgendered or S&M folks, either.
There are masses of straight people out, enjoying the nice weather ad celebrating our Big Gay City.

Two happy vaginas celebrating pride!
Yay!
People love to pose with us to show how proud they too are.

Blowing kisses to my adoring public...
Posing for pictures all day long...
Feeling like a true San Francisco celebutante...

I really do love standing out in a crowd. It's like 'Where's Waldo?' but a whole lot easier.

Gay Pride was great. Somewhat unexpectedly, gay men are among my biggest fans. I think that the color pink can do a lot to bring people together.

I made seven dollars from the tips stuffed into my new interactive costume. While originally I had been giving out Hershey kisses, the idea of making money instead of giving away sugar is an intriguing one, though I guess not exactly novel.
