The Vagina Monologues
Celebrating V-Day at San Francisco's Castro Theatre, February 2006
For the second year in a row I participated in the V-Day festivities at the Castro Theatre. An ensemble cast did a phenomenal job with Eve Ensler's singularly amazing Vagina Monologues.
I greeted people at the door and waved to the theatergoers. I did not appear onstage during the show itself; my outfit probably would have detracted from the serious nature of the piece.
Hanging out on Castro Street, more than one gayboy mentioned I was in the wrong neighborhood. But I must confess, I just *love* the gayboys - even if they don't love me back so much.
Vagina Monologues
V-Day, February 2003
I had a brief cameo in a production of the Vagina Monologues at the New College of California in San Francisco, where I also displayed my thematically-appropriate artwork for V-Day 2003. The women were fantastic and inspiring, the audience was receptive and positive, and Eve Ensler's play is simply an amazing work of art.
